The descent is one of the most epic and unique adventures in the European Alpes. This is a must for every skier- You can take the gondola from Chamonix at 1050m Aguille de Midi at 3842m. When you reach the top, your reward is a view over the roof of Europe. But be careful, at this altitude the air is thinner, so please take it easy.
After the footbridge to your left, take the small passage way hidden in the ice. Here you will find the start of a popular off pist descent (hors slope) and the crest of Aiguille de Midi. The descent ends in the Vallée Blanche. Please remember the descent should only be used when accompanied by a guide. You can find slopes here to suit all abilities : The Vallée Blanche classique,Vallée Blanche par le petit Envers, Grand Envers and a lot more.
From the top of Aiguille de Midi you can ski over glacier crevasse, glacier spikes to flat forest areas. The finish line is in the Valley of Chamonix (1050m). The descent of Vallée BLanche Classique takes 4 to 6 hours, this includes the gondola trip to the top. For your trip to this mountain region you will need warm clothing and good skiing equipment. You need to be fit and able to keep your skis under control in difficult conditions. Further details and rates must be discussed with your mountain guide.
You only wish to see the European peak panorama from the lookout point on the Aiguille de Midi ? Even this is not a problem, you can enjoy the view of the roof of Europe on the visitor’s tour. Take a cabin cable car called “Panoramic Mont-Blanc” to the top of Helbronner mountain, the peak terrace, Mont-Blanc and Avaris-terrace. You can experience “The step into the abyss” (“le Pas dans le vide”,”Der Schritt ins Leere”) a glass bottom terrace with a view of 1000 meters into an abyss – guaranteed adrenaline rush.
